Santa Catalina School, located in Monterey, California provides a first class education for students ranging from 4-18 years of age. Students take part in a variety of what they call “Service Projects” to better our world. This year, and for the past four years, these students have worked tirelessly to rally behind Alegria: both by raising awareness through word of mouth and by fundraising in their community, Santa Catalina has been in Alegria’s corner. One teacher noted: “It’s remarkable to see the looks in the eyes of students as young as 5 when they hear about the misfortunes of others so far away. But then, a switch flips when they realize there is something they can do for kids who they may never know but may and will help in any way they can.”
